Last Race of the Season

Last weekend was my last race of my Formula Continental season at Laguna Seca, and it couldn’t have gone better. I kicked off the weekend with a fundraiser at Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley on Thursday, Oct. 26. We had a good turnout, made some money, and everybody left with a smile. As for the event, a new track record, pole, 13th win of the season, and the class championship were all great additions to a perfect weekend. Niel Porter, Josh Boucher, and Sakoul Yang once again put together a fantastic and flawless car. It has been a real pleasure racing with the Porter Racing group this season.

Sunday also went well. It was my first experience with an enduro. Aaron Baily, Alex Schutte, and myself shared Aaron’s Mazda RX7 for the 4-hour race. It was easier than I thought to get used to a sedan, and after combined practice and qualifying, I set fast time for the team. The race was really fun. My hour and twenty minute stint flew by, and we finished 23rd overall from about 50th on the grid out of 55 cars. It was a great experience.

I want to thank everybody that came out to the track to watch me race, I really appreciate the support. It means a lot to me. Thank you.
